Heather Dean, RN, CNeph(C)
CANNT President 2016-2018
Our new and improved CANNT website is up and running, as we speak. It reminds me of that “Weekend Project” that turns out to take a “few weekends”. Coordinating feedback from our volunteer CANNT Board members and assisting our new Events & Management Plus Inc. team as they settle in has been a challenging experience. Congratulations to us for a job well done! We look forward to your feedback. Thank you for your patience with the delayed launch. Anything good is always worth waiting for.
Please join me in welcoming our new CANNT Office team led by Pamela Lyons and Megan Lyons, of Events & Management. CANNT is looking forward to a long relationship with Events & Management, “Yes”, that is their company name. With their continued support and expertise we hope to build and sustain CANNT for the next 50 years PLUS!!
Speaking of 50 years … CANNT’s 50th Anniversary is happening this year in Quebec City, October 25-27 with the theme Our Past will Guide our Future. Our CANNT planning committee is hard at work developing a program with something for everyone - Save the Date!
Remember to renew your membership and save big on your Conference Registration fee. There are many Bursary Awards available to CANNT members. We all know those outstanding individuals, who work without recognition to care for our patients and families living with Kidney Disease. Take the time to nominate one, or a few.
CANNT is as strong as our membership. We encourage each of you to get involved. Consider putting your name forward for a Board position, work on a conference planning committee, submit an abstract, submit a poster, write an article for our amazing CANNT journal. Most importantly, keep your membership current, and encourage your colleagues to join us. Our Communication director Michele Trask keeps us up to date with her monthly CANNT Connection. Print it off, and post it on your units, and LIKE/SHARE with Facebook, Instagram, and twitter.
CANNT wait to see you all in Quebec City this fall. Oh, how beautiful it will be with the autumn colors.
I feel truly honored to be serving as your CANNT President. I feel very blessed to be supported by an amazing CANNT Board. We have so many educated, talented, and dedicated CANNT Members.
Yours in Nursing,
